Shute Norway (1899-1960}
Shute was born in London, educated at Shrewsbury School and Balliol College,
Oxford, and lived in Australia after 1950. Much of his fiction is classified
by some as crime fiction, others disagree. Many of his books have also been
issued in paperback and book club editions.
